Fractured or Broken Teeth
If a tooth is fractured and the pulp chamber is entered there are only two options – extraction, or endodontic treatment. This applies to all teeth – not just the big canines. Left untreated infection is inevitable and teeth are very likely to develop tooth root abscesses. These can go undiagnosed for a long time - leading to chronic pain and discomfort.
There are a number of dental referral practices that are able to offer root canal treatments – see teh referral section under Dental Treatment.
As a rule - fractured teeth should have a root canal filling - or be extracted.
